The 2025 Genesis G80 continues its tradition of offering comfort over raw performance, a rarity in today’s luxury segment. The G80’s refresh includes subtle exterior updates, a huge 27-inch OLED screen inside, and standard all-wheel drive across the lineup. However, the real charm lies in its quiet and composed driving experience, which remains its strongest suit. Buyers are advised to skip the Sport Prestige trim to fully enjoy the G80’s luxurious nature.

Cadillac’s $360,000 Celestiq is a bold attempt to rival Rolls-Royce and Bentley in the ultra-luxury EV segment. The Celestiq impresses with its sprawling, low-slung design, advanced tech, and a 38-speaker AKG sound system. While its price may raise eyebrows, Cadillac is betting that the Celestiq’s blend of craftsmanship and innovation will redefine the brand’s image and capture the attention of the top of the market. Technology, Market Data & Analysis

BYD has overtaken Honda and Nissan to become the world’s seventh-largest automaker, thanks to a 40% year-on-year increase in sales during the April-June quarter. The company sold 980,000 vehicles, buoyed by strong demand for its affordable EVs, particularly in overseas markets where sales tripled. This surge in sales puts BYD closer to competing with global giants like Toyota and Ford.

Leasing is making a comeback, especially in the EV market, where 48.7% of new electric vehicles were leased last quarter. This marks a significant shift as leasing options surpass financing for EV buyers, driven by attractive federal tax rebates available only for leased models. The rise in leasing is expected to flood the market with used EVs in the coming years, making them more accessible to budget-conscious buyers.
