The 2027 Ford Bronco Filson Is the Luxury Bronco

The Filson is the only Bronco outside the Raptor with the Raptor's turbocharged V6, detuned from 420 horsepower, and adds the Sasquatch off-road package as standard. Ford claims 20% less road noise. Doug DeMuro expects pricing between $70,000 and $75,000.

A Pyrrhic Victory in the War on Cost: 2026 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Tested

The Elantra Hybrid starts at about $27,000 and makes 139 horsepower, less than the Honda Civic Hybrid or Toyota Prius. Car and Driver recorded 41 mpg on the highway, under the 52-mpg EPA rating. The magazine timed 8.4 seconds to 60 mph and suggests spending more on a rival.

EV batteries last longer than drivers feared

An Aviloo analysis of 20 popular EV models found that median battery capacity stays near 90% after about 93,000 miles. The finding draws on more than 500,000 tests. Chief executive Marcus Berger says degradation varies widely between identical cars depending on climate and how they are parked.

VW Mulling Body-on-Frame Pickups, SUVs for the US Market

Volkswagen said in a September 3 statement that it will explore body-on-frame pickups and SUVs in the subcompact B-segment for North America, possibly by the end of the decade. The move follows a profit drop of over 40% and the 50,000 job cuts announced in Germany.

Jeep Recalls 328,381 Grand Cherokees over Detaching Coil Springs

The recall covers Grand Cherokee L, Grand Cherokee and 4xe models from the 2021 through 2023 model years, built with incorrectly installed rear coil springs that can detach while driving. Air-suspension models are excluded. Jeep estimates the fault reaches 0.1% of those vehicles and reports no related accidents.

More than 3.2 million vehicles carry NHTSA park-outside warnings, including models from Jeep, Kia, Hyundai and BMW.
