Feds Endorse Cyan Lighting for Self-Driving Cars
NHTSA proposed a rule requiring exterior cyan lights that illuminate when an automated driving system is engaged, so police can distinguish a hands-off driver from a distracted one. Mercedes proposed the color in 2023 and SAE endorsed it this year. The agency gave no date for a final rule.
